About Tom Leveen: Biography

Tom is a lifelong Arizona resident. He attended a local private school for grades K through 8, a public high school for 9 through 12, then spent twenty years working on a bachelor’s degree — so, never give up. He has been writing fiction since second grade, when one of his teachers had him read an original short story to the first graders next door. He became an agented writer in late 2006; his first novel, Party, was published by Random House Children’s Books in 2010. Since then, he has published with Abrams/Amulet, Simon & Schuster, and again with Random House. His eighth novel will be released in 2017.

In addition to writing fiction, Tom is a frequent speaker and instructor of writing, from early grades through adult. He regularly speaks at writer and educator conferences, various fan conventions, and school and library programs.
